Last week's post this week.
Friends,
Better late than never! Here are Friday’s five words.
1️⃣ Gabby
I am a recovering Bachelor/Bachelorette fan that dipped out of the franchise in early 2024. However, there will always be some members of Bachelor Nation that I am rooting for.
At the top of this list: Gabby Windey.
Because of her breakout stardom on Season 3 of Traitors, here has been a lot of internet buzz around her. (If you are uninitiated, I recommend reading this Gabby Windey profile from The Cut.)
I’ve just tuned into her podcast, Long Winded — the title of the show and the literal description each episode. But there is something about her beat poet cadence and her unapologetic political and cultural riffing that has me hooked.
Note: The clips embedded below (including the YT thumbnails) do include spoilers about the outcome of The Traitors Season 3. To avoid, please close your eyes and scroll a bit further down your email.
My favorite Gabby moments took place last week during her post-Traitors press tour. On three different talk shows, all owned by the same parent company, she declares that she is still waiting for one last paycheck. Her plea to Peacock and its bosses is hilarious in every single segment.

2️⃣ Print
I had a last minute meeting in New York City on Thursday and wanted to make sure that I could get where I was going without a smart device of any kind. When part of my meeting instructions included a printable map of the location and its grounds, I made a grand plan to PRINT.
I printed my Amtrak tickets. (Also included as a PDF in my confirmation email)
I printed the location map.
I printed the email from the person I was meeting with her phone number and all other pertinent information.
(I know that there is an environmental impact with printing, but I wonder if it is any more than the one caused by using apps on a smartphone or tablet?)
Environmental concerns aside, my printed goods were a success. Plus, with one early morning glance at the map, I did not need to pull it out to get to my destination. I was able to find where I was going with my eyes and my brain.
A fun adventure sans screens!
3️⃣ Eavesdropping
Thanks to my map, I arrived early for my meeting. There was a public seating area near by, so I plopped myself down at an indoor picnic table and pulled out the paper with the rest of the printed email instructions. While reviewing everything I needed, two gentleman greeted each other and surveyed the room for a seat. I could feel them looking my way and so I offered to share my table and benches.
I said, “I’ll only be here a few minutes longer. And don’t worry, I won’t listen.”
They laughed and then one of them said, “Oh we’re not saying anything important anyway.”
Flash forward ten seconds and these two are talking about the very famous people they work for and they definitely said things that were important and not to be eavesdropped.
Don’t worry, I did listen! How could I not! It was a thrill!
4️⃣ (a) Jonas
Today marks the first preview of The Last Five Years on Broadway. All previous productions of this 90-minute time-bending musical were Off-Broadway. The original cast and production left a huge mark and I can proudly say it is my favorite show of all time.
I was a little bit nervous when the cast was announced for this Broadway production and the male lead was a Jonas Brother. Not a fan, I thought.
However, in all of the promotional clips leading up to tonight’s inaugural performance, Nick Jonas has proved to be the perfect match for this role. I’m shocked. And now open to see what else he has up his sleeve.
Last week, on The Tonight Show, Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren performed the only song in the show where the two-person cast comes together and sings together.
I had chills watching their performance through a screen and I cannot imagine what it felt like in the Tonight Show studio.
I am going to press my rush ticket luck this week to see if I can catch an early preview.
In the meantime, here’s “The Next Ten Minutes” as performed on Fallon.
5️⃣ Vintage
I came across a new-to-me vintage clothing/coffee shop in Philadelphia called Ace Coffee Outpost. They have taken over two storefronts on Fabric Row and there’s not much I enjoy more than vintage clothing and coffee. The staff was (unintentionally?) a combination of terrifying and entertaining. The coffee good. The clothes could have been better.
If you are also a vintage lover, then I suggest you journey on over to Peak Secondhand in South Jersey or Curator in Rockland, Maine. Both excellent!
I’ll try to get it together with a new set of five words at the end of the week. 🤞.
Cheers,
